Conroe impact

I'm staying with AMD (now off $14 from its recent peak of $42). Although INTC has got a much stronger chip, since its availability is PLANNED to be limited (and it's a relatively big chunk of silicon, 4MB cache for a desktop part!), and since the prior generation of chips is going to be steeply discounted, I don't see INTC making any impressive financial figures in a few quaters to come. I think AMD would be smart to not to engage in pricing war and just leave the desktop market to INTC, and instead continue to draw substantial revenue from Opteron sales. Wishful thinking? Maybe, we shall see...

Thanks to the power of the Internet, this point of view did not go unnoticed. There are people on the discussion board who commented on this strange point of view. This point of view does not look strange to me, at all. After all, Genghis Khan's horde did not perform any atrocities on the territory now known as UK, so why would people living there consider him a monster? Even now, not 70 years after the most terrible war remembered, former concentration camp forced laborers in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus are unable to prove the fact that they were what they were. That, given the German punctuality and comprehensive record-keeping?! Unbelievable...
